Review: I would have thought someone would be sure to have anything new to add to the sub-category of sci-fi time travel movies. After watching Looper yesterday, im happy to report that Rian Johnson removed the doubt and hope that Hollywood Sci-Fi can be more than just empty out t spectacle.First I would say, do not get discouraged from watching the movie if you think it is too complicated or difficult to follow. To follow the story and characters to learn the motives requires a little concentration, but not to the point that you do not enjoy the action beats and story other more visceral elements. The is well developed, information and plot points are presented in a fun and well-judged pace. There are some nice little thrown away the visual references and metaphors that, if they catch you, add a good quality story and stop it feeling too clinical in writing plotting. The it's tight, hard-edged and Its very dry humor, the actors are fantastic. I think its fair to say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the best way of becoming one of the watch: Bruce Willis pops back to life, clearly enjoying himself again, (although I would not say it is only Bruce Willis in a movie sense). This is a great film experience, it's a completely original idea and fun, the writer / director has managed to successfully relocated saw the film, the more things seem to a layman, pressure or interference from external sources. No how good of a chance that you will have to watch out who, the movie (and you), can not stand Hollywood to learn a lot more from him. |
