Review: During the Normandy landings during the 2nd World War two brothers were killed. In other parts of the world is another Ryan brothers are killed in battle, leaving their mother with a son and three remaining telegram as sent. A group of men, led by Captain Miller set out to reach Private Ryan and not just break the news to him, but for his return to US.What can I say? it's a good movie despite some flaws. The story is based on real-life situations during the 2nd World War and gives us the opportunity to follow a group of men as they participate in the horrors (and men) war. This is the strength of the film, and it has never been more intense than in the first 25 minutes and to a certain extent, the last 20 minutes. The opening of Normandy only emotional power quality, and it's really well done? it is so powerful that the actual plot itself is a bit of disappointment. I love Band of Brothers, because the focus is on the war and what it is like to be involved and not a soap opera type story. The action is still very good, but can not seem to keep up to opening.It sentiment also sank into a tad too often. For example, Ryan's mother live in this kind of a Norman Rockwell painting that Spielberg's vision of middle America. Also use a little too much dialogue gawkish too? although it is hard to criticize the emotional death scenes as they should be.A flaws that are easy to get over is the lack of British. Like Band of Brothers (which has some Cockney accent) is a movie AMERICAN? so of course they will focus on the American experience. But it would be nice to have some English (or any other) sounds or interface between the allies. I can understand why the film opens and closes with stars and stripes and why the film focuses on the properties, but a little perspective is helpful. Theres one focusing? but when it really is not included bits of information problem. It always makes me think of a Michael Caine took the children back to the UK when they are taught in American schools, WW2 started in the 1940s (ie? Once America joined) . But this is a small error in fairness, it is an American film? why be surprised when the focus is the American people! Hanks is a good actor? he is more subtle than his Oscar role, where he plays to the crowd. He benefited from a large supporting cast of good actors, cast time, long face, and other immigrants Sizemore, Burns and Farina is a good time actor. Damon, Ribsi, Diesel, Martini, etc. are all very good at coming up? although Damon has one of the simplest character. They have all been a little stereotypical Americans, but not the main fault? just a screen writer who would like to cover all bases, I think, although it is annoying that they cover the entire background, but can not press other allies in edges.Overall it is very good, although some stereotypes, waving American flags and love Spielberg sense exaggerated.
